This tile painting Little Jug saw life during the isolation of lockdown. The colour blue seemed to suit the mood of the time. Similarly, the choice of still life rather than a figure as the subject represented better the aloneness I felt, away from family and friends.
This tile painting of a little jug with carp on a blue background was the first of the ‘blue’ images, when the idea of doing a series of work on the subject of isolation first came about.
I inherited this little jug from my mother and it was a constant feature around the place. I think Little Jug speaks for itself.
