A painting of our fig tree, painted this year from sketches made during the hot weather in the summer of 2022. The heat suited this young tree, whose boughs were bending under the weight of the ripe figs and it has continued to fruit abundantly! It is painted using traditional Japanese brushes, fine paper made from Mulberry leaves and inks made from soot and minerals. The chop is stamped underneath my signature and it means Purity.
